While at KU, Samantha was most involved with KU Habitat for Humanity, serving as Vice President, Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru), as a small group leader and speaker, and Theta Tau professional engineering fraternity, as a leader and member of multiple committees. During her last summer break, she interned with McCownGordon Construction in Kansas City, MO, in 2012 and discovered her passion for construction management. Previously, she also interned with Hughes Consulting Engineering (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design) in Lawrence, KS, and Design Collaborative (mechanical building design) in Fort Wayne, IN. She also worked one summer at Kanakuk Kamps, as a summer counselor.
Samantha loves outdoor sports and activities like running, bike-riding, ultimate risbee, and water skiing. While at KU, she maintained her involvement with campus organizations, attending KU men's basketball games, and her local church. She diligently balances her time between work and spending time with family and friends. She is especially fond of her new nephew.
After graduating a semester early from the KU Architectural Engineering program in December of 2012, she moved to Kampala, Uganda. She is currently working with a non-profit group called Engineering Ministries International (EMI). In her new position, her responsibilities involve both architectural engineering design and construction management for EMI.
